“The Beauty Of Brown”

The following photo is the Mission Railway Bridge located in Mission, B.C., Canada.

I have always admired this Canadian Pacific Railway bridge. Maybe it’s the length of it at 533 metres spanning the Fraser River or simply the multiple repetitions of the oxidized structure. I have always felt that it never quite gets the attention it deserves so my goal was to showcase its beauty using the sun as its helper.  I am quite pleased with the photo capturing the light to portray its beauty, well sort of. I walked back and forth along the shoreline very quickly looking for the best composition all the while concerned about losing the optimum light. I am pleased with the photo regarding the light however I do not like the barren cut trees near the left of the photo. I tried to diminish their obtrusive appearance in the photo by composing them within the structure of the bridge. So, again I am somewhat pleased with the photo but the cut trees bug me.
